Homelessness Inquiry Resumes

The Inquiry into Homelessness in Australia resumes after suspension due to COVID-19. Submissions close Friday 12 June.


The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs has resumed its inquiry into homelessness in Australia. It will seek to understand the factors that contribute to people becoming homeless. It has a wide-ranging Terms of Reference.


Before the Inquiry was suspended The WAAEH (Alliance) and Shelter WA held a Pulse Meeting on Tuesday 17 March 2020 to engage the sector and to provide input to the inquiry, this work is now continuing.


The Alliance and Shelter WA will now put together a joint sector submission with local sector case studies. The Committee is accepting written submissions until Friday 12 June. For information on how to make a submission, go to the Making a submission to a Committee Inquiry page.


TIMELINE


11 February | Inquiry Launched.

17 March | Pulse Meeting.

31 March | Inquiry Suspended (due to COVID-19).

12 May | Inquiry Resumes.
